- Abstract
-
The study of the thought of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., mostly revolves around his fight for civil rights (integration in public places, access to education and participation in the electoral process), his practice of non-violence and his criticism of the Vietnam War. We cannot deny that these were his main concerns. In an attentive and conscientious reading of his writings we can discover a deep solidarity and internationalist conscience. This solidarity and international conscience are given from his commitment to human rights, his anti-imperialist position, and his option for non-violence.
