La Relación: Estado - Iglesia, durante la primera era de Getúlio Vargas en Brasil

Through this essay, we try to reveal the winding relationships between the spiritual power (church) and temporal power (state) in Brazil on the firsthalf of the twentieth century. As is discovered, a break between the radical secularism of the First Republic (1890-1930) and state benevolence, during Vargas’ firstera (1930-1945). In this regard, the Constitutions of 1891 and 1934, represent -at least to written level-, policy positions on church-state relations in the two periods.
